Our Junior Development Squad is back on Saturday at 12:00pm at Lockleys. Sessions will take place on Mondays 5:30pm-7:30pm and Saturdays 12:00pm-2:00pm.
There will be no court hire available on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. There will be limited court hire over the holiday break. More information will be provided soon.
Our school holiday clinics with the City of West Torrens Council are back in January. We have 3 sessions on the 8th, 15th & 22nd of January. There will be 2 age groups per day. Please arrive on time, good idea to arrive 15-20 minutes before the session. Extremely important information regarding entry into Lockleys from the 1st of December 2020. As of tomorrow (1st of December 2020), we have a new covid plan and QR code. The bottom line is that recording your entry to the building at Lockleys regardless of your purpose is now mandatory.
Simply taking a photo of the QR code with your smart phone will bring up the check in page. At the moment the user must fill this in. If the user has no smart phone then they MUST fill in their full name and contact details as per before. Our COVID Marshals will ensure you fill out your details when you enter the venue. This summer we are really excited to team up with Study Adelaide for some Badminton Come N Try sessions at Lockleys. Study Adelaide assist international students who are coming to study in Adelaide whether that is high school or university study. With the COVID-19 pandemic a large number of the international students have decided to stay in Adelaide for the summer.
We have two 'Come N Try' sessions available this summer on the 7th & 14th of January. Please be advised that we have tentatively rescheduled the first weekend of the coaching course to be the 12th and 13th of December. The second weekend will remain as originally scheduled in January. This is a fluid situation and should the COVID conditions not improve the course will be rescheduled in full.

Sporting Schools applications for term 1 2020 open from the 16th of November at 8:00am and I will remain open until 8:00pm on Friday the 27th of November. Please make sure you select Badminton as your sport of interest so that we can get in contact with you. We have a group of qualified coaches who have been especially trained to deliver our Sporting Schools programs. After an interrupted 2020, we are very keen to visit as many schools as possible in 2021 and make sure that students are being active and healthy.

Yulius has been involved with the Great Southern Badminton Association for a number of years. Ya-Hui has been involved with umpiring for the SA International and Helen has been an active member for the Sturt Badminton Club. Pleased to announce our regional trip to Renmark in week 9 of the school term. The purpose of the trip with to work with students from Renmark High School as part of the Sporting Schools program. We have also locked in a clinic on the 9th of December at St Joseph School in Barmera.
Super excited to announced our trip to the APY Lands, Coober Pedy and Port Augusta from the 23rd of November until the 27th of November. We will be working with Mimili Anangu School in the APY Lands & Coober Pedy Area School and we will be doing a school visit in Port Augusta on the way back to Adelaide on the 27th of November.
A lot of planning has gone into this and we are excited that we can finally announce it. As of the 2nd of November 2020 there will be a change in the casual court hire rates at Lockleys. For SABA members the cost of court hire will be $20.00/hour. Only those people who are members of SABA will be eligible to receive the cheaper rate. Non-member casual court hire will remain at $25.00/hour.

After some consideration we have decided to change the entry requirements for the BWF Level 1 coaching course starting on the 28th of November. Badminton South Australia is pleased to announce a BWF Level 1 coaching course in partnership with Badminton Oceanica. The course will take course over 4 days at St Peter's College (55 Hackney Road, St Peter’s 5069). The course will begin at 8:00am on Saturday the 28th of November and conclude on the 24th of January at 6:00pm. Days and times you would be required to attend are:
The course will be conducted by Stuart Rowlands from Badminton Australia. There is no cost for this coaching course; however, if you register for the course and do not attend all four days you will be charged $150.00 (regardless of your pass or fail status). Attendance at all four days of the course is a mandatory requirement. To register for the course, you will be required to have a current BWF Shuttletime certificate. You will also be required to have current coach registration with Badminton Australia. A successful application is required in order to gain entry into the course, please showcase your badminton coaching background within your application. *Please note there may be changes regarding entry requirements, if so further announcements will be made on the website and social media pages. Badminton South Australia is excited to announce that Development Officer, Callum Dunk, will be coming to Jamestown. Callum will be working with Jamestown Community School as part of the Sporting Schools program. Whilst in the regional Callum will also visit Port Pirie and work with our club located in Port Pirie. Should be a fantastic week! The trip will begin on the 16th of November.
