Callum talks with Bevan Jones about the state of Badminton here in South Australia as well as what he has been up to in isolation. Check out the video with Callum and Bevo on YouTube now: Due to techincal issues our Development Officer, Callum Dunk, has needed to change his email address for Badminton SA. Callum's new email address is sabaparticipation@gmail.com , please contact Callum in regards to any badminton participation questions or enquries.
We apologise for any email unresponded emails during the last month. Please note that this email address is only temporary and we will look to move staff and board members to brand new emails in the near future. Hand sanitising is essential and signing in BEFORE entering the hall. Daily deep cleaning of venue. Limited spots so be quick!
Court hire $20/court/hr During this difficult time, our physical and mental health is important and playing badminton can help alleviate people’s stress.
Badminton SA is attempting to keep the venue open so has increased the cleaning to daily cleans To cover the increase in cleaning costs, casual court hire rate has been increased to $18/court/hour. We trust you understand that these measures are in place for the health and well-being of all and appreciate your co-operation in not using the kitchen & shower facilities on the above days Unfortunately, we are going to need to cancel all of our Come & Try Programs which includes the regional program in Clare.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Both the U17 and U19 Championships have been postponed due to the health risks relating to COVID-19.
The health of our athletes, training and support staff is our number one priority. The events are looking to be possibly rescheduled in September/October 2020 It is with great sorrow that we need to cancel the final 3 Come 'N' Try sessions at Marion Leisure and Fitness Centre. Unfortunately the program did not get enough participation to warrant the continuation of the program.
Although, we still have our Lockleys and Walkerville programs available! Badminton SA is putting in place some operational measures in light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice from the government, WHO, Badminton Australia and Sport SA.
The following measures will commence this week: SABA Summer season grand finals will go ahead on Wednesday evening, with a Competition representative and/or Board member to highlight the sanitisation notice at the start of the night. Hand sanitiser will be available for use. Winter season will NOT commence within the next 4 weeks, date to be penciled in for late April as a start time and the Board will update in early April. This 4 week window is being used by larger and similar sized sports. Obviously this start date can be pushed out if it is deemed necessary. Regular casual court hire will be offered leaving it up to individual players to make their own decision. Sanitisation notices will be posted around the hall as well as ways to keep yourself safe from COVID-19 when in public places. Clubs with court hire agreements with SABA to discuss their own options surrounding social nights. Junior tournament and state U17 training to go ahead for now as they only involve small numbers and 'Keep Safe' advice will be followed. A decision may need to be taken to suspend SA school attendance by our coaches. This to be monitored and reviewed continually. All players need to be vigilant with their personal hygiene and follow the advice suggested in the attached flyer. Introducing a new Come 'N' Try session at the Valleys Lifestyle Centre in Clare! The session will be run by new Development Officer, Jack Crispin and will incorporate a session for all ages. Parents are welcome to come have a casual hit as well.
